Computation of Equilibria of a Flowing Two-fluid in Two Dimensions

Two-fluid equilibria encompass more physics than the Grad–Shafranov (GS) equation for static equilibria, or even the flowing MHD model. However the two-fluid system is more complicated, and, worse yet, is a singular perturbation problem. The latter difficulty is overcome using the “nearby-fluids” ordering. A “1.5D” solution method has been used to interpret results from the TCS experiment. These results, summarized here, exhibit trends indicative of the improved stability and transport observed experimentally. An algorithm for solving 2D equilibria has been developed based on a relaxation method. The magnetic flux function, governed by the extended GS equation, is updated by successive-overrelaxation, while the toroidal field and flow components and the density are updated using a Newton–Raphson-like method.     

Performance analysis of switch‐and‐stay combining in two‐way relay systems with analog network coding and time‐division broadcast protocols

In this paper, we consider switch‐and‐stay combining (SSC) in two‐way relay systems with two amplify‐and‐forward relays, one of which is activated to assist the information exchange between the two sources. The system operates in either analog network coding (ANC) protocol where the communication is only achieved with the help of the active relay or time‐division broadcast (TDBC) protocol where the direct link between two sources can be utilized to exploit more diversity gain. In both cases, we study the outage probability and bit error rate (BER) for Rayleigh fading channels. In particular, we derive closed‐form lower bounds for the outage probability and the average BER, which remain tight for different fading conditions. We also present asymptotic analysis for both the outage probability and the average BER at high signal‐to‐noise ratio. It is shown that SSC can achieve the full diversity order in two‐way relay systems for both ANC and TDBC protocols with proper switching thresholds. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Efficient multi-hop scheduling algorithms for packet transmissions in WDM optical star networks

This paper proposes multi-hop scheduling algorithms for the All-to-All Broadcast (AAB) problem in Wavelength Division Multiplexed (WDM) optical star networks. The multi-hop AAB problem can be split into two subproblems: Logical Topologies Construction (LTC) problem, and Transmission Scheduling (TS) problem. For improving the efficiency of multi-hop scheduling, we focus on a new multi-hop transmission model and transfer the LTC problem to a special case of the Round Robin Tournament (RRT) problem. In the proposed logical topologies, our multi-hop scheduling algorithms can easily overlap the tuning latency and reduce the number of tuning operations on each node. We compare our results with previous research in terms of schedule length. Overall results indicate that our multi-hop scheduling algorithms have better performance than previous algorithms.

基于FM广播的无源探测系统干扰抑制研究

基于FM广播的无源探测系统,因为其抗隐身、反侦察、生存能力强和可靠性高等特点,成为现有探测技术的一种有效补充,备受各国重视。在实际工程应用中,经常受到临近城市间的同频或临频电台信号干扰,严重削弱了该体制雷达的性能,限制了其应用。针对这种情况,分析了干扰电台信号对系统的干扰原理,给出了抑制这种干扰的自适应算法。对实际信号的仿真结果表明,该方法有效地抑制了电台干扰信号,检测到干扰抑制前系统无法检测到的目标。
